You have loved the start/ stop button features in out previous machines, so we added more value to it. Now, as an exclusive Janome feature, we offer slow - Start/Stop button:

• You can press the button while beginning the sewing to make a slow start. This is especially helpful for delicate fabrics. Once you are some way into the fabric and want to speed up, simply release the button and use the slider to increase the speed.
• Towards the end of the seam you can press the slow stop button so the stitches slow down and you can stop precisely where you need to.

  1. Easy to use and fun; sews really smoothly Review by Helen

I’ve had the 3160 QDC for about 4 months now, and I couldn’t be more pleased (and surprised!) with it. It is my first sewing machine, and I have to say, I didn’t expect it to be so straightforward, easy to learn to use and so smooth to operate. I use the digital display to change the sewing pattern, which is great, as you don’t need to fiddle with any other setting. The length, the width are set automatically and don’t change while sewing. The machine has been nothing but reliable, with no issues, and no need for repairs. The decorative stitches I do are very consistent, and beautiful and even for stitching there are multiple options to choose from. It came with its own extension table and a buttonhole foot. I’ve used it with silk, with cotton and with other materials, for decoration and stitching, and it always delivered.

  2. Great upgrade Review by Zoe

This machine will really impress you! I mean let’s just look at all the features it has: it has its own needle up/needle down button, which makes manual adjustments of the fabric you’re working with a breeze; then it’s got a professional grade feed system, and that translates to straight lines when stitching and backstitching; the button holes are pretty easy to use; it can stretch stitch for knits and it comes with an automatic cutter. As far as its price range, you really get features that only high end machines have. I mean, the needle up and down feature alone is worth the money, let alone everything else. I also love that being rather on the lighter side, you can easily take it and drop it anywhere, and, if you don’t have a specific place for it, once set somewhere you can easily move it. I’ve been very happy with a basic, no frills Singer for a while now, but with this machine I feel I’ve gotten a real upgrade. So I really have to recommend this Janome model, it’s really a machine worth buying and working with.

  4. Will really impress you! Review by Sonya

For a lightweight machine, kind of in the middle of professional and entry level, I have nothing but words of praise for it. It has all the features you could think of, needle up/needle down, it has a lock stitch feature and a thread cutter as well, plus it has its own needle threader. It comes with LED lights, but I rarely use it without natural light, but it’s good it’s there, and the light is almost okay, doesn’t make your eyes tired. The price I paid for it, almost $800 is not on the cheap, but it has all the features I expected of it. In fact, I would say it really goes beyond its price point, and, maybe within this budget, it’s the best you could get. Some reviews online say that the bobbin case had led to tangled thread, but in my case it wasn’t an issue. Also of note, you get a walking foot for it and an extension table, which makes working with it so much easy and so much fun. It definitely impressed me for the budget!
