Janome Horizon Memory Craft 12000
- Product Review (submitted on March 12, 2014):
I used to have a 9500 before but it was very difficult to use it on thick fabric like the pre-quilted double side fabric that I use a lot. My needles were constantly breaking and it was very time consuming. Last spring I decided to trade it in for a 12000 and it was the best decision ever. Now I can sew smooth and fast through all types of materials. The machine works perfectly and all I have to do is to change the needles and clean the lint after each project. I have a lot of things that I haven't tried yet with this machine, like the built in quilting stitches, but I’m sure they are also great.
I had some problems with the machine reading my embroidery designs and I think you may have the same issues. The solution is not keeping all your designs on just one jump drive because the machine will be overwhelmed, create a jump drive just for the designs that you are going to use and the machine will work a lot better that way. I simply use a flash card which is suggestively named “temporary designs” and since I did this I've had no more problems with the machine.
