Janome MC12000
Advanced Sewing Machine

Perceptive, innovative and technically superior to anything you've ever seen in a sewing and embroidery machine. At Janome, we never sleep easy until we have integrated the latest and greatest of technology to deliver quality, precision and excitement of sewing in one heady package...right to your doorstep. Give your imagination a free rein on your laptop and simply import it to your sewing machine and let it take over.

PC ConnectionState-of-the-art PC to Sewing Machine Connection

We expanded the scope of our existing Memory Craft machines with the new MC12000. The touchscreen editing and design experience is now better, with the HorizonLink™ proprietary software. Simply install it on your laptop or personal computer. Now you can work on your designs, edit, resize or crop and then just drag n-drop straight into your machine. And there is a magnifier feature to see your design details better as well.

Custom Stitch CompositionCustom Stitch Composition

With the exclusive Stitch Composer™ features, Janome MC12000 gives you the ability to make your own stitch. You can mark the starting point, define the length, use straight or fancy patterns, and watch an animated preview while you work on it. When you’re satisfied, simply save it in .stx format and send over to your machine. You can even import pre-defined shapes and trace around them to create your stitch from scratch. With over 400 built-in stitches to fall back on as well, this is well and truly your blank canvas.

Embroidery attachments Ergonomic Design of Embroidery Attachment

Our Engineers are in constant pursuit of making a Janome sewing machine the best sewing experience in the world. A huge step up is this brand new design of embroidery unit, still weighing a mere 3.2kgs but offering far more room to work with. The attaching- detaching system is a snap and there's enough room to the right of the need to tackle bigger projects. And of course, you can still work with the free arm in parallel with embroidery projects. All this with a very efficient machine foot-print and you know it must be a Janome.

Bold stitchesBold Stitches

With 9mm wide stitches, your decorative stitches on the MC12000 are decidedly bolder and more noticeable. The maximum stitch length can also go upto 5mm. Almost all the in-built stitches (425 counts) are designed to take full advantage of the dimensions. With twenty-four feet (including ones for ditch quilting, pin-tucking, beading and edge-stitching) your stitches will stand-out for their distinct quality.

Switching PlatesSwitching Between Plates Made Easy

Working with multiple patterns, switching frequently between straight and zigzag stitches, and several layers of fabric can take its toll. The MC12000 makes it all as simple as pushing a button to pop out the needle plate, snap in the correct one and you’re ready to go. Cleaning is less annoying too, and certainly less broken needles and better quality stitches. And a message on the touchscreen quickly suggests the recommended foot depending on the needle plate you switch too. We call it One Step™. You will agree.

Automatic fabric feedingAutomatic Fabric Feeding - bigger and better

When we brought the AcuFeed to you, solving the age-old problem of uneven feeding of top and bottom layers of your quilt, it rapidly became a favorite. So we decided to make it even better with the custom AcuFeed Flex™ for the MC12000. Now with a twin type Dual feed, it lets the lower and upper feed dogs work together, allowing better traction on the cloth and more space for the bold, wide stitches. We also addeed a single type feed for slimmer cross sections like zippers and button panels. Easily detachable when not in use, these features are guaranteed to improve your quilting.  Precision seam spacing maintained using the fabric guiding feature.

Switch stitchesSwitch Between Straight and Zigzag in a Jiffy!

Gone are the days when you would have to plug in a separate attachment for zigzag stitches, and grapple with stitch counts to return to straight stitches. Now you just have to deal with a knee lifter to switch from straight to zigzag and back, even as the machine is on. You can widen your zigzag with the knee lfiter. This makes those tapered designs, fancy raw edges, artistic thread embroidery and monograms such a breeze. The Variable ZigZag™ is innovation, it much be Janome!

  1. Love this machine Review by Bonnie

I've had my 12000 for a couple years now and I absolutely love it, I quilt or sew almost daily and I’ve created some queen size quilts and a lot of other projects so far. I do a lot of embroidery also and the machine works great, I recommend it to any sewer or quilter. I didn’t have any lessons on the machine but the machine is very easy to use. This is the best gift I have ever received from my husband.

After buying this machine I had constant trouble with the bobbin case which was jumping out of its place. I’ve consulted my sales rep and she explained to me what I was doing wrong each time. Then they showed me how to thread the machine correctly and they also told me this is a very important step. After learning how to do this I haven't had any problems.

  4. Does what I need it to do Review by Mandy

I used to have a 9500 before but it was very difficult to use it on thick fabric like the pre-quilted double side fabric that I use a lot. My needles were constantly breaking and it was very time consuming. Last spring I decided to trade it in for a 12000 and it was the best decision ever. Now I can sew smooth and fast through all types of materials. The machine works perfectly and all I have to do is to change the needles and clean the lint after each project. I have a lot of things that I haven't tried yet with this machine, like the built in quilting stitches, but I’m sure they are also great.

I had some problems with the machine reading my embroidery designs and I think you may have the same issues. The solution is not keeping all your designs on just one jump drive because the machine will be overwhelmed, create a jump drive just for the designs that you are going to use and the machine will work a lot better that way. I simply use a flash card which is suggestively named “temporary designs” and since I did this I've had no more problems with the machine.

I used to have a Memory 7 that I bought years ago and it worked perfectly since then. It never needed to be repaired or adjusted. A few months ago I bought my Janome 12000 as a present to myself but because I was ill I didn't have a chance to use it until recently. It is absolutely the best and I sew way more now then I ever have.

Last year when I retired I bought this machine as a present for myself because I love sewing and this machine seemed to be great. It actually is even better that I’ve thought. I took it recently to the dealer for a tune-up and it works like a charm. I didn’t have any problems with my machine so my advice for every sewing machine owner is to not neglect the maintenance part, especially if you have and advanced, expensive model like this. I didn’t use all the stitches and features yet but I’m sure all of them are great.

I am very pleased by my Janome, I am quite a beginner with this but I truly love this new machine. I’ve quilted 3 baby quilts so far and I also had a lot of embroidery projects. I work full time so I don’t have much time for my hobbies, but I enjoy using my Janome in the little spare time I have. It is a great machine and none of my friends’ sewing machines compare to my precious Janome 12000

My Janome 12000 was a present I bought myself for retirement about a year ago. The machine is great and I’ve discovered the art of quilting, I am working on my 11th one and my machine still runs so smoothly.

I am a proud owner of a Janome 12000 for a year and a half now and I still love my machine. The only issue that I had was with loading my designs from a jump drive. The tech support was very helpful and told me that the machine can read only 2G drives so my 4G won’t work. Now I use a 2G jump drive for loading my designs and a bigger 8G as a back-up memory. I like this machine and I am considering looking at the new 15000 that was released in October.

I am a Janome fan because all their machines are very good and sturdy. My first Janome I bought 2 years ago and it works perfect. My 12000 was purchased 8 months ago and I am very happy with it, I use it a lot so I'll take it in for servicing every year to maintain it.

I haven't had any major problems in the 8 months since I've had this machine. Minor problems with threading or tension occurred because I didn’t used the machine properly. So, if you have any problems with the 12000, I suggest you to check your threading and do it again, this is a very important step and it must be done properly.

I have owned both the 9k and 10k and both are fantastic. I’m about to buy the 12k. I can’t use my old designs that are stored on CD’s, I could really enjoy the modern technologythat it has. My 9,000 has never let me down, so I have even bigger expectations form the 12000!

I can't say I had any major problems in the 8 months since I have this machine. Minor problems with threading or tension occurred because I didn’t used the machine properly. So, if any problems arise during your work with the 12000, I strongly advise you to check up your threading and do it again, this is a very important step and it must be done properly.

I own a 11000SE and a 12000. The things I like the most about these machines is the functionality and the fact that they're so easy to use. I am a Janome fan and I've never thought about buying another brand. These machines are amazing and my dealer is there to help me with every problem that may occur.

I really like this machine! I've had my Janome 12000 for 5 months and in that time I have used it extensively, not only for sewing but for embroidery also. I love using it so much that I have offered to embroider names on my grandson’s football team’s jerseys, not only for my grandson but for his whole team, both jerseys that they have. I found some problems with the bobbin tension but it was nothing that I wasn't able to fix, the problem was not the machine but the way I had it threaded, threading it correctly is very important.

I recently traded my old Janome 9700 for a new 12000 and I’m happy I did. It is very nice and has a lot of built in stitches that the 9700 didn’t. One of my favourite things about this machine, is the screen is much bigger and the entire design is displayed at once making it easier to follow. It lights up for every colour so you know in every moment what your machine is doing. I like that it has two motors so I don’t have to stop sewing if I want to wind the bobbin. The first time I used a USB on this machine it didn’t recognize my designs but then I figured out that they weren't in the right folder. After figuring it out, I could see all my projects It is nice that you can personalize your screen saver with your own photos and that the patterns appear instantly, in opposition with the 9700 which needed a lot of time to synchronize. I find the embroidery made with the 12000 a little better than the one done with the old 9700. I signed for free classes with my dealer so I’ll learn more about the features that this machine has and I can’t wait to try the quilting stitches also. I am happy with my purchase, even if it is expensive, this machine is worth the money and if you have a trade in it will bring the cost down a bit.

There is not a single day passing without using my Janome 12000, but I mostly use it for doing embroidery. I’ve never encounter a problem with it as long as I constantly check the machine. Whenever I am using it for embroidery, if it begins to make any funny sounds, I just stop and change the needle, clean it up and then set it on again. I have to take it for service twice a year because I really use it a lot for embroidery. It's fantastic how easy to use this machine is. Janome’s the only sewing machines brand that I trust because the design is great and using it is very intuitive. I currently own three of them, and I encountered no serious problems, except for some user issues!
