Janome Horizon MC7700 QCP

Sturdy and stylish - the Horizon Memory Craft 7700 is one of the latest from Janome. As good as any dedicated quilting machine, it still packs a punch when sewing or hemming with phenomenal ability to withstand the many decades of long hours associated with quilting , handle different fabric textures and several layers of fabric.

The spacious work-space is bound to impress you. With eleven inches of throat opening, and a free arm almost, as long. Those huge trouser legs, flannel sleeves and curtain projects are no longer a hassle. Hemming on round corners and quilting remain just as productive on the MC7700. In addition, the large extension table and room for storage adds remarkable value to its relatively small footprint.

Excellent selection of built-in stitches, great lighting features, fast operating speeds and an efficient cloth guide together make it a package which will be the envy of your sewing and quilting club.

Excellent Throat SpaceExcellent throat space, offering eleven inches of room to the right of the needle (11" x 4.7"), allows you to tackle those cumbersome quilting    and sewing projects with as much ease as the household ones.

High Contrast DisplayHigh contrast liquid crystal display touch-screen, with sharp, recognizable font is a pleasure. Stylus (included), helps set the functions for your    stitching tasks easily.

Jog DialThe jog dial can be turned clockwise, or counter-clockwise to efficiently select one of the stitch categories. With 11 choices, you can find your favorite stitch under any of those categories and start sewing.

Auto Plate ConversionMC 7700 turns the tedious and annoying task of changing stitch plates (when you switch from straight to fancy stitches), into a piece of cake. The Auto Plate Conversion feature (APC) helps you move between zigzag or straight stitch plates with the push of a button which pops the needle plate up from its slot. Attaching the new plate is easy with a snap-on mechanism.

Plastic Extension Table
The clear plastic extension table expands the scope of your workspace manifold, giving you enough elbow room on either side of the fabric and to the right of needle. Larger projects are so much easier to maneuver with minimal fuss.

On screen featuresOn-screen feature to detect the length of stitches in a design pattern. Even if you use many different lengths in a complex design - you can use this pattern length calculator to find the details you need, or estimate the total fabric space you may need to allow on either side of the design while you sew it out.

LED LightsDespite a solid design, the five LED lights ensure that your workspace is well illuminated, and the shadows are minimal.

I give this machine 200%! What is not to love about it? I am not sure of what to pick as my favorite feature. The Janome MC7700 is one of the best investments I have ever made and I will not stop singing it praises. I have already taught two people to sew using the machine. I am overjoyed with my purchase.

A few years ago, I decided to buy myself a gift. That gift was a Janome MC7700. I have been using it ever since to make quilts and patchwork. I used the machine to sew my daughter’s wedding dress. I have never had any problems using this machine. It has versatile features and I have enjoyed the use of a wide range of stitches including the hand quilting look stitch, which as the name suggests is wonderful for quilts. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it.

My Janome 7700 was given to me by my husband as a gift. I hate anything technical and at first, I was afraid that the big machine was much more complicated than the one I had owned for 40 years, not the case though. In fact, the more I used the Janome MC7700, the more I loved it. Changing the feet is a simple thing to do, and so is threading the machine and the bobbin. Moreover, the machine is very quiet and sews smoothly and powerfully and at just the right tension. Regardless of the thickness of the fabric, my machine can sew it. I love my Janome 7700!

Before I had my Janome 7700 I used to put off quilting. Now however, I am motivated to do it more because I just love using the machine! The cut button, lighting, and needle threader on this machine are just wonderful to use. The acufeed system and the ¼” acufeed foot are also lovely. Having owned several Janome sewing machines before, I am in a position to say this one is by far, the best.

After having decided to put my 20-year old Janome 18-stitch machine into semi-retirement (I still have it), I decided to stay loyal to the Janome brand. I bought a Janome 7700, which I am very happy with. Not only is quilting very smooth, but the machine also works silk beautifully. The piercing power of the needle is great on blue jeans. I have a few choices when it comes to convenience and time saving features. The auto needle threader and needle down features, as well as thread cutter, are just wonderful. I love the programming functions as well as the extra big bed and table attachment.
For any beginners and more experienced quilters/ sewers, this machine comes highly recommended.

Understanding how to use this machine was a bit of a learning curve for me at first, but I think I have it mostly figured out thanks to my complimentary lessons. All my sewing needs as far as quilting is concerned, have been met, since it has all the necessary features. The best feature for me on this machine, is the built-in walking foot.

It is a wonderful thing to have been able to make many baby quilts on my Janome 7700. I find the dual feet, needle threader, drop-in bobbin, superb lighting, and the general machine use experience very wonderful. I have yet to have any serious problems with this machine, any small issue has been user error.

Considering the number of great features this machine has, where do I start? The extra long arm for me is one of the best components of the MC7700. Since I am a perfectionist when it comes to sewing, the needle plate converter comes in quite handy. I get high quality straight stitches I need for quilting competitions I take part in.

I am in love with my Janome Horizon. All the features are great and I have had no problems with any of them during use. I find the walking foot helpful as an avid quilter because I can pre-determine the settings I want, to get the best seam possible, when I need it. I am also in love with its lock stitch, up/down needle, the thread cutter, and independent bobbin winder among other things. There are just so many good things to say about this machine.

Even though the rating is on a scale of 1-5, I give this machine a perfect 10! I will never buy another machine because this one is wonderful and I am in love with it. It is like my baby. I do not even know how to pick the best features because I love them all. My favorite stitch is #100 - snaky spiral, and this machine just quilts perfectly. I am so grateful to Janome for such a wonderful product!

Even though I still have a lot to learn, the Janome 7700 has been pretty easy to figure out. I have never had any problems with the fabric being pulled or eaten up in any way. The sewing process is quite smooth. Everything about the Janome 7700 is self-explanatory since it is very easy to operate. I can use the machine manual to learn how to use each foot to create the best stitch depending on what I need it for. The explanations are great. Even though I have yet to complete all my sewing lessons, I managed to produce a beautiful pillow for the family room sofa on my first attempt. Not only do I have the best sewing and quilting machine, I also enjoy its reliability and ease of use.

It is much easier for me to do an appliqué because of the good blanket stitches it produces. Not only is the work area large enough, there is also an excellent screen. The thread cutter comes in quite handy and the resulting stitches look good. I have learnt a lot since my first enjoyable lesson that I received with my purchase. I cannot wait to get started on my quilt!

  24. great features Review by Courtney

I have been very happy with my choice of machine since I bought the Janome 7700. It is a good quality machine for quilting and sewing and did not cost over $4000. I was looking for a trouble-free machine that could do good quality letters. The Janome 7700 offered me a wide variety of options for quilting stitch designs as well as high quality lettering. I was also interested in a machine with a large throat to accommodate quilts, needle down selector, and dual feed.
I love the great lighting features too. I can also access the commands directly in the Janome 7700, unlike other machines, which have many menus to go through. I love the high quality stitching which is possible because of the proper built-in walking foot. While I still have my Bernina 801 that still works, although the one that had a large throat was too expensive.
I would say that this 7700 machine is well worth the money. In addition to being quiet, it can be useful to interior decorators, sewers, and quilters. For its versatile nature, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new machine. Take a Janome 7700 for a test run before looking into buying other machines.

I really love this sewing machine with its long arm. I have used it to make three quilts since I bought it. The thread cutter is my favorite component. In addition, its lighting is superb. 28. Not the cheapest but worth every penny Review by Gail
    Quality
    Price
    Value

I have considered other sewing machine brands but the Janome 7700 Horizon I felt was far more superior. The resumption setting for me is a wonderful feature because it enables the machine to re-start with the last settings I had been using. While it can be turned off, I prefer leaving it on. When I sew with the acufeed walking foot on, and having adjusted the needle position appropriately, I can always find the machine where I left it even after turning it off. Despite having read some reviews complaining about the acufeed, I find it hard to agree with them because it requires very little effort; similar to changing feet. The effort is worth it because you will get excellent results. The lighting features are wonderful too.
Some brands have an extension table available for purchase as an extra, but the Janome 7700 comes with the extension table. The accessories are priced competitively, and can be added to your collection as newer projects come along even if you do not need them in the beginning. In general, this machine is of superior quality, very practical but a little pricey. The competing brands in that price range do not even come close.

I started sewing 6 years ago using my Gran’s old Singer machine. I however, enjoy quilting a lot, which is why I wanted an upgrade. Enter the Janome MC7700, that my quilting friends suggested for me. Since I do lots of interior decoration and quilting, this machine is just perfect for me! My friends’ advice was great and I am glad I listened to them. The Janome 7700 for me was quite expensive but so worth it!

  30. Lovely machine Review by Anna

Having decided to purchase a quality machine with all the works, two years from my retirement, I proceeded to shop around. I looked at Viking diamond, which was noisy when sewing, and Bernina 830LE which would be very expensive to maintain and accessorize. I also looked at the Pfaff Creative Wonder.
However, the less expensive Janome 7700 proved to be a much better machine. I found the machine sturdy, it was much easier to thread and I did not have to adjust anything before sewing. Despite that, it produced superb stitches. I realized that I did not need any other spectacular machine, because the Janome 7700 had everything I wanted. Even the thread nesting on the back is trouble-free. I can load the bobbin winder quite easily and the walking foot has excellent results. The Janome 7700 was like an answered prayer because all its varied options are just wonderful. In addition, the machine came at a much lower price than I had anticipated.
I feel that I hit the jackpot with the Janome 7700. If you buy it, you will not be sorry. Quilting will be much more fun after that.

As soon as I unpacked my machine from its box, I was able to use the needle threader. I have never had any problems on the Janome 7700 machine since I started quilting with it. Although it is quite heavy because of its big size and metal frame, that issue is not a problem because of its durability. My grandchildren can now get clothes without any hassle thanks to the machine. I love my Janome 7700!

Having being given a German-made Pfaff 1222E in 1973 on my wedding, I used it for many years. I really got accustomed to using the walking foot. When it stopped working, I had to get another sewing machine but alas, Pfaff Germany did not exist anymore! I had a hard time getting anything good from the disposable plastic junk machines available nowadays, until I tried a Janome 7700. I knew I was going to be okay. This machine has an even bigger acufeed walking foot! What is not to love about it? I now have a larger sewing area for quilts, superb lighting, a wonderful button hole system. Everything is just wonderful. I give the Janome 7700 100% because it makes me very happy and I have no problems at all.

I have been sewing since I was 11 years old and have used many types of machines over the past 4 decades. This most-treasured item- the Janome 7700, dominates my sewing and quilting world. I had only dreamed of some of these features, not ever knowing I would experience them myself, and in this machine. My Janome machine is wonderful. Having bought it with my husband, we are very pleased with it. It requires little maintenance and still manages to run smoothly. I can sew so many fabrics with it, regardless of the type (that includes fur and vinyl). The walking foot of the machine is just great and the tension and stitches are always consistent. It is very easy to familiarize yourself with the machine’s controls since they are easy to learn. I can get day light using its lighting features. Reproducing and getting the buttonholes that I want is so easy. I also enjoy the knee lift option; I have no idea what I did without it! Even my 7 year old has been able to learn basic sewing skills using this machine
