Instructions for applying beading to a folded edge

On the Janome 1100D professional serger, you can use the beading foot to quickly attach strings of beads. Begin by setting the machine to use program six, flat lock two. Set the serger to the indicated adjustments. Be sure the serger is threaded according to the colour coded threading guide, located inside the front cover. Attach the beading foot. Thread the beads through the guide on the foot. Hand-crank a few times to be sure they are progressing correctly. Fold your fabric wrong sides together, and feed it under the foot. As you begin serging, the beads will be fed through the groove, and the fabric fed alongside. And now, you’ve attached a string of beads.


Attaching thicker cord to fabric

On the Janome 1100D Professional Serger, you can use the beading foot to easily attach cord.  Begin by setting the machine to use program 6 flat lock 2 set serger to the indicated adjustments.  Be sure the serger is threaded according to the colour coded threading guide located inside the front cover.  Attach the beading foot.  Thread the cord through the guide on the foot, hand crank a few times to ensure it's progressing correctly. Fold your fabric, wrong sides together and feed it under the foot. As you begin serging, the cord will be fed through groove and the fabric fed alongside.  And now, you've attached your cord.  ​
